"Sans oiseau"

“Sans oiseau” (“Without the bird”) began with the idea of a single bird that was never added. In the end, its absence became part of the work sometimes what is missing says more than what is there.

The painting also carries a darker story. Together with “Nocturnal Bloom”, it was almost stolen after an exhibition by someone I once considered a close friend. Some stories are better told in person.
